Pioneering the Next Generation of Antiviral Therapeutics

Presidio Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a San Francisco-based clinical stage specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery and development of small-molecule antiviral therapeutics. Presidio has raised over $54 million in financing from Panorama Capital, Baker Brothers Investments, Bay City Capital, Ventures West, New Leaf Venture Partners, Nexus Medical Partners, Emerge Capital, and Sagamore Bioventures LLC.

Presidio’s current focus is HCV and HIV, where we have a pipeline comprised of three main programs (see Programs & Pipeline for more details). Presidio's main focus is on their HCV NS5A inhibitor program, which is currently undergoing clinical studies and is well positioned to compete in the growing HCV therapy market. The drug, PPI-461, is effective in vitro against the seven identified HCV viral genotypes, and is predicted to have once daily dosing regimen in man. Clinical proof of concept for the NS5A inhibitor is anticipated near the end of 2010.

The lead compound for HIV is PPI-802, a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) with a novel “penultimate chain termination” mechanism of action. PPI-802 shows preclinical efficacy against multi-drug resistant HIV strains, including those harboring the clinically important M184V and K65R substitutions. PPI-802 is currently undergoing IND-enabling studies.
